Discovery Group has spent the past -40 years building a reputation as a trusted partner in mining recruitment. We focus on both technical and executive roles worldwide, bringing experience, industry knowledge and a straightforward approach to every assignment.
We have placed the executives who set the direction and the senior technical specialists who deliver it — involved in successful recruitment assignments across 64 countries, with senior, executive and management-level placements in 47 of them.

Founder & Principal
Jon Taylor
Jon brings over 17 years of mining-related experience to Discovery Group, initially through the formation of investor relations summits and presentations, and for more than a decade and a half focused purely on technical and executive recruitment within the mining industry — successfully helping companies with staffing needs in 64 countries.
This enables Jon and the Discovery Group team to present detailed career development opportunities to the people they represent, ensuring a more holistic approach to securing the right individuals for clients. Jon holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Swansea University and an MSc in Abnormal Psychology and Psychopathology.
From pre-IPOs, junior explorers, promising mid-caps and mining consultancies through to multinational operators, Jon works with each business on a bespoke basis — gathering a comprehensive understanding not only of technical requirements, but of culture, operations and every factor influencing growth.
